Cool Stuff

Wow, has it actually been three weeks? Holy shit.

Busy three weeks, though. I now officially have a real job again, telecommuting to Vancouver, doing MEMS stuff. Looks to be very very cool.

I've also been inspired to rev the wheels on Oath of Stars, the TROS-esque space opera game on my jobs-on-the-go list. I'm starting a playtest campaign, and this has helped tremendously to spur me toward getting it written. Large chunks already are, and more are coming together every day. It's good stuff, I think.

And lastly, three cool things for you.

Number one is a web application written by the Forge's sysadmin, game designer Clinton R. Nixon, called FindPlay. (There's a songfinder app by that name also, but it's quite different, and I'll bet Clinton didn't know that and doesn't care.) Finds all of the gamers who've signed up, within 35 miles of a specified place, with a couple of quicklists of games including "Would most like to play but haven't." Go! Use!

Number two is an animation and a tribute to Dogs In The Vineyard. It's a slightly different link for Internet Exploder and for real browsers. Go! Cherish!

Number three is the geekiest thing ever, with regards to a very narrow type of geekiness. It's called GameGame, and it's a card game about game design. Funky cool. We'll see how playable it actually is as a game... but it strikes me as IGC-style fun, and a cool brainstorming tool. And, I mean, really... how could I resist?

Don't answer that.
